Manned a cannon in the battle with and capture of the British ship "Admiral Keppel," a boat of 18 guns. Was slightly wounded in the leg in the engagement. Received a pension for his service. Gravestone at St. Peter's Church, Hebron, CT: "Died September 23, 1841, age 83"
