WATROUS, Jonathan (b. 2 JUN 1758, d. 23 SEP 1841)
Note: Served in the RevolutionaryWar . Fought in the infantry in the Battle of White Plains and as a marine on the Connecticut Navy ship "Oliver Cromwell" out of New London, CT from January 20th to September 20th, 1778. Manned a cannon in the battle with and capture of the British ship "Admiral Keppel," a boat of 18 guns. Was slightly wounded in the leg in the engagement. Received a pension for his service. Gravestone at St. Peter's Church, Hebron, CT: "Died September 23, 1841, age 83"
